WHAT SECRETS DO THE HOSTS OF HEAVEN HIDE?”

That is the question perpetually on my mind lately. It pulls me out in mid-dream to keep me awake all night long… It finds me again long after Aurora has drawn the curtains of dawn; It springs upon me there again, In all of my daydreams!

In the Garden of EDEN, EVE ate of a fruit, and was endowed with forbidden knowledge but then, she and her descendants had to die.

At least, so the Story goes. But what kind of Deity would allow such a thing? If He were Benevolent, He would banish evil immediately. Unless of course He wasn’t ACTUALLY Omnipotent! The opposite could as well be true: that he is Omnipotent but NOT benevolent!

Certainly, Before you were formed in the womb, He knew you! Therefore, He must have known that this new and beautiful creature called woman, was endowed with rebellious curiosity or did he?

Was the Serpent even necessary for such disaster to strike? was rebellion or curiosity necessary for what happened next? The Scripture Never said anything about how long they stayed in EDEN blissfully before the serpent spoke his words of CHAOS! Why was the Tree included in the garden within reach of hands and lips in the first place?

Every writer knows that any gun that hangs on the wall in act 2, must be shot eventually…maybe not in act 3 or even act 4, but it MUST — -GET — -SHOT!

/…and the serpent was the most subtle of all the creatures that the Lord made./

So here, we have a God, who made a cunning snake but didn’t know that the snake would foment rebellion.

He made an intelligent man but didn’t know that the man would be lonely…Eve was created as an afterthought!

He made Eve but didn’t imagine that she would be the weak link. Omniscient?

He had to ask “Where are you?” when searching for the Original Couple in the Garden of Eden. Omnipresent?

Are there Limits to the Power of the Gods? Are there super-Natural laws that bind them in their ETHEREAL REALMS too?

Since the Hebrew word “Elohim” is plural, who was Yahweh talking to, when he said “let us make man in OUR own image”? What are the names of the rest of the ELOHIM? What are the names of the BROTHERS of GOD?

Marcus Toluwani Devereux; Sept. 1992 — — — — — — — — — — -Lone thoughts!

‘Ike!…You’ll be late!…Ike!’

The shrill voice cut through the images in his head like a dagger through skin. He had never been one for day-dreaming but the first time he dreamt big, it seemed to work…or did it? he couldn’t be so sure. Mum was right though…of that he was sure. She was usually right. If he didn’t cut it out right away, he would be late for school…on his first day, no less!

‘SCHOOL! Ah! that’s something!’ Ikechukwu Liu shoved a stack of blueprint papers off the table to make room for his backpack. Three years earlier, he had seen a crossbow in a YouTube video. He then proceeded to draw the plan for this toy in painstaking detail, on blueprint paper from the artisans store. His Mother had seen the plans and loudly denounced the project calling it a weapon.

It was the blueprint that got Liu in trouble. But what do you call a place where the blueprints existed as digital files on a laptop computer? where you made your crafts not with planes and wood and hammers and chisels but with a 3d printer?

Heaven is a place where gods make things with thoughts and words; a place where you could feed text into a machine* on one end and a mechanical component comes out of the other. Where you could send a blueprint to a printer which literally prints out the creation in solid 3 dimension! Yeah…close enough, that’s HEAVEN!

OMEGA HIGH ACADEMY! that’s what the presenter called it in the morning news, although OLYMPUS would be a better name. There are kids out there who were born wealthy enough to call such a place ‘School’ -You had to be born with a silver spoon jammed so far up your ass it comes out of your mouth! and Ike, Ike was not one of them. No.

Ike was the baby raised by a single mother at the edge of lake Providence. He was the child who learned to swim before learning to walk. Ike is the teenager whose body is defined by muscles built by hard work, not the gym. Ike is also the boy who won an all paid scholarship to the most prestigious college in Lagos. What he didn’t know, was that won’t be the strangest or most improbable thing that would happen to him this year!

He picked up the backpack and swung it over his shoulder. He stopped at the door and stretched his left palm out in front of him. His fingers were trembling with nervous energy.

Geez! keep it together liu! he muttered, shaking his hands vigorously like a wet dog shaking water off its fur after a dip in the lake.

Anyways, ready or not, here I come!
